Isaiah 1 - 17
- In Isaiah 1:18 God offers to cleanse the people from sin, "'Come now, let us settle the matter,' says the Lord. 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.'" What did they need to do to be cleansed from sin?
- Isaiah 2 describes a time when all human pride will be brought low and "the Lord alone will be exalted in that day." (verse 11 and again in verse 17) Verse 22 then commands us, "Stop trusting in mere humans." How can you put your trust in God alone?
- Isaiah 3:2-3 speaks of God removing good leaders from Jerusalem and Judah and says in verse 4, "children will rule over them," The result in verse 5 is that "People will oppress each other." How should we be praying for leaders in our country now?
